The Esterhazy Singers invited singers for a fun day of singing selections from Bach’s Mass in B Minor under their inspirational Music Director David Halstead. The event took place from 10am till 4pm, with a run-through/performance at 3pm, with breaks included for cake and tea.
The Come & Sing was on Saturday 28th September 2024 at the choir’s usual rehearal location of Saint Margaret Pattens Church, EC3M 1HS.
I’d like to coin the come and sing B Minor on 28 September as an alto. What do I need to do?

Could you let me know please when tickets for the Come and Sing are available .
I am surprised that i wasn’t asked my voice part. /I am a Second Bass.)
Hi Brian – thanks for letting us know. We’ll make sure to allocate everyone to their correct sections on the day. Looking forward to having you at the event and your voice boosting our basses!
Hello. Could you let us know which selections from the mass we will be singing? I’d like to practice beforehand. Thanks
Hi Patrick – we will focus on the major choral moments in the mass, and how much we will cover depends on how the day goes. At the end of the day (around 3.15pm) we will sing through the key moments of the work, alongside one or two of the solo movements presented by our choral scholars. Guests are welcome to come and listen to this informal performance. Hopefully that helps with your practice, looking forward to having you at the event!
How fantastic! I was a pianist and learned this work with my Dad when I was 11. Now in my 70s , I am bocally rusty, but musically v familiar with this work. I’d love to join in as an slto please. Should i buy a ticket now? If I have a guest (audience) should they buy now?
Hi Elizabeth – Looking forward to having you join us in the alto section! Please do buy a ticket in advance as it helps us with planning for the event and ensuring we have copies of music for everyone. Your guest who will be in the audience (non-singer) is welcome to join as well, but they don’t need to buy a ticket. We will begin the informal performance around 3.15 on the day if your guest would like to time their arrival for then.
Which edition are you likely to be using, please ?
I am ignorant – which are the “major choral moments”, please ?
Many thanks
May I bring my guide dog please?
