A summer programme of music by women composers, with related readings, to commemorate the granting of the vote to the first women in 1918. It featured pieces by composers ranging from 12th century Hildegard of Bingen to Roxanne Panufnik, born 1968, including Clara Schumann, Theo Musgrave, Fanny Mendelssohn, Lilli Boulanger and Cecilia McDowall. Ethel Smyth’s March of the Women was given a rousing performance.
